Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero is an American singer-actress and former model. Kotero is famous for her role as co-star in the film of Prince's Purple Rain and for having been the singer in the group of girls Apollonia 6. Apollonia was christened as an actress and female singer by Prince. In the '80s she was among numerous artists who benefited from Prince. Patricia Kotero is a Californian actress, born in the city of Santa Monica, California in 1959. Her beginnings included being a model on television. In 1984, Patricia Kotero was cast as the leading actress in Prince's Purple Rain. (During this period, she changed her name.) Then she was replaced by Vanity from the female trio Vanity 6 who starred in the film with Apollonia 6 under their name. Sex Shooter, a song from the soundtrack had a small popularity for her group, however when she was Prince's duet partner on Take Me with You she had more success. Kotero's association with Prince ended when the pair disagreed on her career direction. Apollonia 6, the group that she belonged to, ended up splitting. She then appeared in a handful of minor movies in the late 1980s (reportedly declining an opportunity to play in the Purple Rain-follow-up Under the Cherry Moon) prior to settling for acting in a role at night for the dramatic Falcon Crest in 1985-1986. Apollonia was her first public appearance in 1988. But the R&B/dance album it was a bit stale and did not make a big impression with the music buyers of the period, was quickly wiped out. She remained active (if slightly underneath the radar) in the role of actress throughout the following decade, appearing in small TV roles as well as minor film and even issued the exercise film. Apollonia made a bilingual CD named Stay With Me in 1997. Then, she went back to the college where she earned the degree of filmmaker. She also formed her own production firm. Kotero is a business entrepreneur in addition to being the creator of Kotero Entertainment an entertainment and multimedia business.
